ABOUT

Luke Baumstark was raised in New England before relocating to St. Louis, which he has called his home for over 15 years.  After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut, Luke studied at Washington University School of Law, winning an Award for Oral Advocacy and serving as an Editor on the Global Studies Law Review while earning his Juris Doctor.

During a five-year tenure as a prosecutor at the Circuit Attorney’s Office, Luke established himself as a trial attorney, trying approximately 30 cases and winning the Office’s “Trial Star” Award in 2007.  In his next position, Luke defended clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies in personal injury, medical malpractice, product and premises liability matters, insurance coverage, and civil rights cases (among other areas), successfully negotiating settlements and resolving cases through dispositive motions.  Following this, Luke enjoyed a tenure as a Partner at a boutique firm dedicated to civil and criminal litigation, and with a focus on finance and securities industry-related disputes, in addition to government and regulatory enforcement matters.  In 2016, Luke was recognized as an "Up & Coming Law Firm Leader" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.  In 2017, he joined the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the organization's "Top 40 Under 40" in the field of Criminal Defense.

The breadth of Luke’s experience has led to a pragmatic approach to representing his clients.  He starts most cases with an eye toward early resolution, which is balanced with an enthusiasm for aggressive courtroom advocacy when appropriate.

Luke is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois. He has been admitted to the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, as well as the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois.  He also has experience practicing in front of FINRA arbitration panels and the American Arbitration Association.

Luke has served in the American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb Committee, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Young Professionals Group, and the Webster Groves Lions Club.  He also sits on the Board of Directors for long-term care and rehabilitation facility Manor Grove, in Kirkwood, Missouri.
